So, after using the wifi router for few years we feel we should upgrade our router, so that we could us internet with more use and efficiently. So, we decide to upgrade the router and purchase a new router. But after using the new router for a while we notice that The Netgear wireless range extender is not working. # Why the Netgear wireless range extender not working?
If we purchase a new router, then the Netgear wireless range extender would not be able to work. Because the Netgear wireless range extender which we are using is already had been setup with the old router which we were using previously. If the Netgear wireless range extender has been already setup with the old router it would not be able to communicate with the new router. It would not be able to establish a connection with the new router, So, both the new router and the Netgear wireless range extender could communicate with each other.
# How the Netgear wireless range extender could communicate with the new router?
As the Netgear wireless range extender has been already setup previously with the old router, so, the first thing we have to do is to rest the Netgear wireless range extender. Then only we would be able to set it up with new router. To rest the Netgear wireless range extender we have to look for the button called reset on the extender. It could be on the side of the extender or it could be underneath of the extender. So, by just hitting on that button we could reset the Netgear wireless range extender. After resetting the Netgear wireless range extender we just have to set it up again with the new router.
# How to set it up with new router?
If we have already reset the extender, then we can set it up very easily. Otherwise, first-of-all, we have to rest the Netgear wireless range extender by hitting the reset button on it. Once the extender has been reset, then we can set it up with the new router very easily by either using the web browser setup or the wifi protected setup. If we are using the web browser setup we have to open the webpage www.mywifiext.net on any browser of a desktop computer or a laptop.
