WHAT EXACTLY IS A WPS?



WPS stands for Wireless Protected Setup.Netgear wireless range extender could be setup using several methods and Wireless protected setup is one of them. To overcome all those issues the WPS was introduced which is much safer than the WPS PIN method. How WPS works?
The working of WPS is very simple but, at the same time its secured too. While using the WPS, we do not have to select the network we want to extend, its name and the password. That means it will choose the Wi-Fi network by itself, it will assign a name to it and it will put the same password on the Netgear wireless range extender as we have on our home Wi-Fi network.
Can I use any device to setup using WPS?
WPS is a great method but, its only compatible to WPS enabled devices. That means our devices are not WPS enabled, we would not be able to use this great feature. How to use WPS?
To use WPS, the first thing we have to do is to check if our home Wi-Fi router is compatible with WPS or not and if it is compatible, is it enabled or not. IF the WPS is enabled on our home Wi-Fi router then, we have to press the WPS button on our home router for three seconds. Then, within two minutes of pressing the WPS button on our home router, we have to press the WPS button on the Netgear wireless range extender. Then it will take two minutes to establish the connection and apply all the settings. After that, we could place Netgearwireless range extender where we want and we could enjoy the consistent Wi-Fi signal everywhere inside our home.
