How to reconfigure your old extender

Range extender, as the name itself suggests extends the range of the wireless router to the place where you get a weak signal or dead spot area. People change the internet service provider because they get a better deal from other internet service provider or upgrade their router for a better performance. So in that case you need to have to buy a new extender. To reconfigure the extender with your new network is very easy. Once you get a new router or network installed, the extender does not connect to the new network automatically because the extender still holds the configuration of the previous network.
The steps are very simple.
First of all you have to reset your extender. There is a small tiny reset button or a pin hole on your extender. You need to grab a paper clip or a tooth pick which can easily fit into the reset pin hole. Press the button, push it hard and hold it for thirty to forty seconds. The lights will start flashing which means the extender is getting reset. Soon after you release the button you need to wait for 1 minute for the extender to have one solid green light. Once you have the solid green light that means the extender has got reset.
Now place the extender next to the router, let’s say within the reach of three to five feet. You can configure the extender simply by pushing the WPS (wireless protected setup) but on the router and then on the extender. It will take approximately 2 minutes for the extender to get configure with your new network or router. You will have 3 solid green lights lid, that is, the power light, the WPS light and the router light. You can log in to mywifiext.net in any of your device, create and account and then you can see the new extender network information in the mywifiext.net, and you can connect your devices accordingly.
In case if you do not have a WPS on your router or if it does not connect through the WPS (probably because your WPS is disabled in your router settings), you need not have to have to worry, you can log in to mywifiext.net using your desktop computers or your laptops, or your tablet, or your I pad or your mobile phone, connect your device to Netgear default network and then open a browser and go mywifiext.net for the manual configuration. As mentioned above when you are in mywifiext.net, you need to create and account. After creating the account, it will take you to the list of the network, following which you have to select the network you want to extend, then enter the new network password and you extender will get configured with your new network. Then you can move the extender to the place it was plugged before and connect your device to the new extended network. Now there are scenarios when you log in to mywifiext.net but it will give you an error, in that case the mywifiext.net link will automatically connect you to the online helpdesk and you will be assisted with the certified expert immediately.
In some case the extender does not reset properly, it may give you 2 lights instead of one light, you can go mywifiext.net and get in touch with the certified expert through chat or on call support. If you face a power outage, or you haven’t used the extender from a long while or you do not have the laptop or desktop to configure the extender, again, you can approach the online helpdesk through mywifiext.net. If you accidently have reset your router and now you have no clue what to do, go mywifiext.net, you will be connected to the online help support, and the certified experts will configure your router and then your extender as well. The support you receive from the mywifiext.net link is fabulous.
