Netgear extenders are being used world widely because of its
simplicity and the performance the give in such an affordable price. Netgear
wireless range extender is very useful in increasing the Wi-Fi range of your
Wi-Fi network. It communicates with your home router and increased the Wi-Fi
signal strength which in turn increase the Wi-Fi range. Setting up the Netgear
wireless range extender is easy and you could do that by using the Web browser
setup or the WPS. But after setting up the Netgear wireless range extender, you
would rather see two Wi-Fi networks on our Wi-Fi available list and many users
often get confused seeing those two Wi-Fi networks.
# Two different Wi-Fi networks for better performance
After setting up the Netgear wireless range extender, you
will see two Wi-Fi networks on the Wi-Fi available list. The one Wi-Fi network
would be for your home Wi-Fi router and the other wifi network would be the
Wi-Fi extended by the Netgear wireless range extender with your home Wi-Fi
network name _EXT. That means to differentiate between the home router and
Netgear extender Wi-Fi two different Wi-Fi names are used. You could connect
with any of the one without worrying about anything. The Wi-Fi password would
also be same for the both the Wi-Fi if you have setup your Netgear wireless
range extender with WPS.
# To which network you should connect
There is nothing to worry about to which Wi-Fi network you
should connect out of those two. You could connect with network which would be
stronger to you. That means, if you are near to your Wi-Fi router you should
connect to your home Wi-Fi router network but, if you are near to your differentiated,
you should simply connect to the Wi-Fi network extended by it. The password for
the both Wi-Fi networks would be the same.
# Automatic switch between two Wi-Fi networks
You do not have to connect you devices again with your home
router or Netgear wireless range extender. In fact, after setting up the
Netgear wireless range extender you just have to connect your all devices with
Wi-Fi networks extended by your router and the netgear extender. Once
connected, your devices will get switched automatically to that Wi-Fi network
which would be strong in the location in which you are using that particular device.
That means if you will go to your home Wi-Fi router the device will get
switched automatically to home Wi-Fi router Wi-Fi and if you will be near to
your extender, it will get switched to Wi-Fi network extended by Netgear extender.
